Mesulid is a popular medicine that is also commonly known under the generic name of Nimesulide. This drug belongs to a wide class of medicines called anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal drugs (NSAID). NSAIDs are well known for their anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. What makes Mesulid different from the other NSAIDs is that this drug’s functional acidic group is a sulfonanilide. This enables Nimesulide to effectively and rapidly provide the relief of inflammation and pain symptoms that are usually associated with a large variety of medical conditions.
