Winstrol Tabs - Stanobolic (stanozolol)
General information on Winstrol
Winstrol is a steroid, similar to testosterone. Testosterone is naturally found in the body. The drug is used for treatment of swelling of the face, genitals bowel wall, throat or other areas, which is also known as angioedema. In certain cases, the drug may used for other purposes as well.
Precautions/side effects of Winstrol
Patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer of levels of blood calcium should refrain from using this drug. Apart from that, patients with high cholesterol level, heart diseases, diabetes, kidney diseases, liver diseases or clotting disorder should inform the physician accordingly before taking the drug. The drug is also known to react with certain medications such as blood thinners like warfarin, medications used for treating diabetes like glyburide, glimepiride, tolbutamide etc. In case the patient is on any of these drugs, the physician should be informed accordingly before taking Winstrol.
Winstrol is a Category X pregnancy drug. It can cause complications in the fetus as well as the newborn child. Thus, pregnant women as well as women who are breastfeeding should refrain from using this drug.
Winstrol is also known to have side effects such as acne, abnormal changes in sexual desire, troubled sleeping patterns and headache. However, in certain cases, serious side effects may show up to the drug such as dark colored urine, prolonged or painful erection, inflammation of the arms or legs, hoarseness of the voice or irregular menstrual periods. If any of these symptoms show up after taking the drug, a physician should be consulted immediately.
Important safety information
- The drug can cause complications of the liver which can be fatal too. A physician should be consulted if symptoms of jaundice appear after taking the drug such as yellowing of the skin or eyes.
- It is important to undergo regular blood tests while on this drug to monitor the response of the body to the drug and to prevent potentially fatal conditions.
Dosage of Winstrol
Winstrol is available as tablets. The usual prescription for treating hereditary angioedema is 2 mg thrice daily. Depending on the response of the patient, the dosage may be decreased to 2 mg once daily over the course of next 3 months. However, the actual dosage of the drug depends on diagnosis and the response of the patient.
The drug can be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed a whole with a glass of water. Overdose of the drug should be prevented at all costs. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible. However, it should not be clubbed with the next dose. Overdose of the drug can cause severe complications such as diseases of the liver which need immediate medical attention.
Storage of Winstrol
Winstrol should be stored in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. It should be stored at room temperature away from the reach of children and pets. The drug should not be allowed to freeze, and if frozen, it should not be used.
